1/26（日）、ハワイのアロハ・スタジアムで全米大学オールスター戦「HULA BOWL 2020」が開催され、ケビン・ジャクソンコーチ（コーチKJ）がジャパン・オフィシャル・ディレクターとして選出した大学生3選手が試合出場を果たしました。

今回の新たなチャレンジに対し、クラウドファンディングでのサポートをはじめ、多くのご支援をいただきありがとうございました。日本人NFL選手の誕生を目指すコーチKJの取り組みに、今後もご注目ください。

●コーチKJ メッセージ

I am proud to be a part of history. Three players from Japan were able to participate in the 2020 Hula Bowl!  College football players in Japan don’t have many opportunities to showcase their talent before NFL coaches and scouts. The three representatives from Japan had a chance to compete against some of the best players in the world.

 

I am pleased with what I saw regarding their eagerness to learn, ability to adapt to unfamiliar settings, and competitive attitude. They each were able to show a bit of what they were able to do in practice, and I think everyone involved in the Hula Bowl was pleased with what the guys had to show and their effort led to them all getting valuable playing time in the Hula Bowl game itself. 

I believe that all of the players will be able to take the valuable lessons that they learned during Hula Bowl week and apply them to the challenges that they face going forward. I wish they all the best in their careers and I look forward to seeing them succeed on the next level.  

I also look forward to the next class of challengers for next year’s Hula Bowl. Japanese football still needs global exposure, and I will be thrilled if participation in the Hula Bowl someday leads to the first Japanese player getting drafted to the NFL!

よくやってくれました。日本の3選手がHULA BOWLに出場することができました。日本の大学生フットボール選手は自身の才能をNFLのコーチやスカウトに披露する機会があまりありませんが、3人の代表選手は世界の強豪たちと競い合うチャンスをものにしました。彼らが見せた学習意欲や適応能力、戦う姿勢にたいへん満足しています。彼らがそれぞれに練習で少し見せることができたことをHULA BOWLの関係者たちが認め、彼らは自身の努力をもって、試合での貴重なプレー時間を獲得したのだと思います。私は皆がHULA BOWLへの参加を通して貴重な教訓を得て、この先直面する課題にそれを生かせると信じています。上手くキャリアを積み、さらに上のレベルで成功するのを目にすることを楽しみにしています。来年のHULA BOWLへの挑戦者も楽しみです。日本のフットボールはまだグローバルな露出が必要です。HULA BOWLへの参加がいつの日か、初めて日本人選手がNFLのドラフトで指名されることにつながればとワクワクします。皆さんサポートいただきありがとうございました。
